COERR Mae Sot Organized a Dialogue with Youth on Narcotic Makes Life Deteriorate

   On February 24, 2023, COERR Mae Sot organized a Dialogue with Youth in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province, on Narcotic Makes Life Deteriorate. There were 51 youth of 30 females and 21 males participating.

   The contents of the training were about definition of Narcotics which are a type of drug that severely affected the physical and mental health. Because of this, use of narcotics is considered abuse and can lead to addiction and other possibly life-threatening conditions.

   After learning and realizing about the dangers of narcotic, youth were trained how to live a healthy life away from drugs through the following ways: to be proud of oneself and to think that life was so worthy that it should not be destroyed by drugs; to realize one’s role as a student and pay attention to the lessons, to listen to parents and teachers’ teaching, to be cheerful, to take care of health and hygiene, to have activities and hobbies like exercise, playing music and reading.

   In addition, to stay away from drugs, the followings were the ways the youth should behave: have good friends so that he or she can follow the role model, do not make friends with bad persons who might lead us to bad behavior; acquire life skills, face and solve problems in the proper way, consider for reasonable reasons, do not escape problems by using drugs, and seek for advices from parents or teachers who had more experience rather than solving problems by one self alone. One’s insufficient knowledge may lead to wrong decision in life.
